Here is her question: I am looking for, “strategies to make up for (what I feel) is an inadequate background to pursue independent research. I’m formulating a study now, but I have no clue if I’m doing this right. My statistics courses were what feels like a lifetime ago I would love to see a podcast with some strategies/wisdom in making up for known areas of weakness in academics.”
Many of us may feel this way- but please consider that you have additional skills that you are bring to the table! Here is my suggestions!
1. Budgeting your time and money- Justin suggests treating your return to academia like a 9-5 job.
2. The importance of social connections- both in your program and in your family.
3. Choose opportunities wisely!
4. Find a mentor!
5. Self-care!!
6. Everyone is full of shit! HA!
